The Columbia Jail House

Step inside the heart of Keystone Artisan Werks, a sprawling 25,000-square-foot historic landmark in Columbia, Pennsylvania — and you’re stepping back in time.
Originally built in 1846, this massive brick structure once served as the Columbia Werks Company, a vital train repair shop for the railroad that helped fuel America’s industrial boom. After 1903 it became multiple commercial Laundry Machinery factories over the years including Columbia Laundry Machinery Factory, Superior Laundry Machinery Co, Wilson Laundry Machinery Company and Keystone Laundry Machinery Company. With its towering beams, original masonry, and echoes of a bygone era, the building itself is an attraction — a living piece of local history.
Today, this revitalized space is buzzing with life as the home of:
Over 100 unique vendors offering handcrafted goods, antiques, and one-of-a-kind creations
The Axeperience at Keystone, an unforgettable axe-throwing adventure
Escape Keystone, one of the fastest growing and most immersive escape room destinations in the Northeast
Paranormal Ghost Tours, featured on YouTube and Amazon Prime, showcasing the eerie legends and haunted past that still linger within these walls
Whether you’re shopping, solving puzzles, throwing axes, or chasing ghosts — there’s something for everyone inside this incredible building where the past and the present meet in the most unforgettable way.
